CoLinux
Cooperative Linux is the first working free and open source method for optimally running Linux on Microsoft Windows natively. More generally, Cooperative Linux (short-named coLinux) is a port of the Linux kernel that allows it to run cooperatively alongside another operating system on a single machine. For instance, it allows one to freely run Linux on Windows 2000/XP, without using a commercial PC virtualization software such as VMware, in a way which is much more optimal than using any general purpose PC virtualization software.
It began with running the KNOPPIX Japanese Edition on Windows (see Screenshots), and we have many other Distributions now.

Operating systems
This website's purpose is to help you choose an Operating System, like Microsoft Windows, MacOS X, Linux and others.
Along with that, this wiki also has articles on Operating Systems' history, Desktop Environments, and other usefull programs.
EncyclOSpedia's goal is to grade Operating Systems according to a few criteria, without giving them an overall grade, as there is no perfect OS for everybody, but only OSs that are better for each type of user.
Here are the criteria:
Usability
- Speed: how easy it is to use you computer fast, without having to browse through complicated menus.
- Ease: How user-friendly it is (action buttons where you want them, easy to find links, never asks you complicated questions you do not know the answer to, etc.). This generaly goes with a diminushing speed (in usability and program effectiveness)
- Configureability: The OS is open to modifications to be adapted to the user.
Summary:
Program effectiveness
- Boot Speed: How fast it takes your computer to turn on.
- Loading Speed: how fast it takes for your computer to load prgrams .

this Wiki is intended to become the ultimate resource regarding all questions about Video, TV and DVB support on Linux, free DVB software and cool projects.
Like every other Wiki it relies on the contributions of its users. Also this Wiki can only get as good as you and we mean: YOU!!! make it.
Whatever you can contribute will be highly recommended, no matter if it's a HOWTO, help and explanations how to write a driver, how to install some a driver or whether you can explain how that beast called DVB is working.
have fun, enjoy,

Bruce Stewart: Did you have a guiding philosophy when designing Ruby?
Matz: Yes, it's called the principle of least surprise. I believe people want to express themselves when they program. They don't want to fight with the language. Programming languages must feel natural to programmers. I tried to make people enjoy programming and concentrate on the fun and creative part of programming when they use Ruby.

MLDonkey has been developed since January 2002 1' and has been hosted by http://savannah.nongnu.org, a development site for free software that is not part of the GNU Project, since Feb. 19, 2002. System Imager
SystemImager
SystemImager is software which automates Linux installs, software distribution, and production deployment. SystemImager is a part of System Installation Suite.
SystemImager makes it easy to do automated installs (clones), software distribution, content or data distribution, configuration changes, and operating system updates to your network of Linux machines. You can even update from one Linux release version to another!
It can also be used to ensure safe production deployments. By saving your current production image before updating to your new production image, you have a highly reliable contingency mechanism. If the new production enviroment is found to be flawed, simply roll-back to the last production image with a simple update command!
Some typical environments include: Internet server farms, database server farms, high performance clusters, computer labs, and corporate desktop environments.
SystemImager is released under the GNU General Public License.

G-Bar Wiki
General
The G-Bar databar is based on a number of SUN servers running Solaris (a UNIX like environment), and a large number thin clients (also known as terminals). The servers are split into three categories:
Graphical display (SunRay) server: Gray1
Applications servers: Bohr, Erlang, Hald, Sunq01-10
High Performance Computing (HPC) servers: Euler, Isaac, Newton
Applications started through the G-Bar_menu are automatically distributed to the application server with the minimum load. If you start an application manually from an XTerm (also known as a Terminal Emulator or simply Terminal), then do not start it on gray1. It is forbidden to run applications on gray1!
If you want to know more about the hardware, take a look at the Hardware page.
Help
Solaris is a UNIX like operating system. In many ways it is similar to Linux, but the experienced Linux user will note a couple of differences. If you are new to Solaris/UNIX, take a look at our UNIX page. You may also want to take a look at the How to get your job done without Windows page.

AVRFreaks
This is an introduction to the AVRfreaks Wiki project for visitors.
AVRfreaks Wiki is an AVR knowledge base and encyclopedia project. The wiki is written collaboratively by volunteers from the AVR user community all around the world. With rare exceptions, its articles can be edited by anyone with access to the Internet, simply by clicking the edit link in the tabs above each page. The name Wiki is believed to be an abbreviation of the words what I know is.
In every article, links will guide you to associated articles, often with additional information. You are welcome to add further information, cross-references, or citations, so long as you do so within Wiki's guidelines and to an appropriate standard. You do not need to fear accidentally damaging Wiki when you add or improve information, as other editors are always around to advise or correct obvious errors, if needed, and the Wiki software, known as MediaWiki, is carefully designed to allow easy reversal of editorial mistakes.
Because AVRfreaks Wiki is an on-going work to which in principle anybody can contribute, it differs from a paper-based reference source in some very important ways. In particular, older articles tend to be more comprehensive and balanced, while newer articles may still contain significant misinformation, unencyclopedic content, or vandalism. continue reading...
